Roadblocks to Digital Equity in Rural, Tribal New Mexico

SDGs Impacted

This article was developed on a discussion between the author and a digital inclusion champion in New Mexico, Eva Artschwager. The article focuses on the issues, from the point of view of the author, related to digital inclusion in rural New Mexico. The author discusses affordability, advocacy, resource networking, and adoption as challenges of digital inclusion.

Impact / Outcome
For affordability unfortunately not much can be done in the short term, except for beginning a conversation and bringing stakeholders together around the issues. It is important to activate advocates on a local level as well as network resources for families to be informed.
