Women in Tech

SDGs Impacted

In Singapore, women have made great strides in terms of digital participation. Beyond a well-developed connectivity infrastructure which underpins equitable rates of digital adoption, we have one of the highest proportions globally of women in technology workforce. Nonetheless, more can be done to (a) strengthen development of female tech talent and (b) encourage women’s inclusivity in tech to ensure that all can benefit from the valuable opportunities created in the growing Digital Economy. This study shows what the Singapore's Government is doing to adress these issues.

Impact / Outcome
Since 2019, the Singapore Government has been working with industry and community partners under the SG Women in Tech (SG-WiT) movement, which has reached more than 120,000 people. Led by IMDA in partnership with the tech industry and community, SG-WiT seeks to attract, retain and develop female talent in the tech workforce, as well as boost women’s participation in tech through various initiatives.
