This report, building on over 70 case studies from members of the OECD International Network on Financial Education, contributes to a better understanding of how public authorities worldwide are designing, delivering and evaluating digital financial education initiatives, and prepares forthcoming work on the development of high-level international guidance on the digital delivery of financial education.
Impact / Outcome The OECD and its International Network on Financial Education (OECD/INFE) have long recognised the importance of digital initiatives and tools to support financial literacy. The potential of digitalisation for helping to meet the financial literacy needs of the general population and vulnerable target audiences was one of the messages contained in the OECD/INFE Policy Guidance Note on Digitalisation and Financial Literacy delivered to the G20 in 2018. The OECD Recommendation on Financial Literacy also acknowledges the contribution of digital tools in support of learning. Through the OECD/INFE, and in particular its Working Group on Digital Financial Literacy, public authorities have continued to discuss the design and implementation of financial education initiatives that make use of digital solutions as a standalone methodology or in combination with traditional face-to-face delivery.
