The Digital for Life (DfL) Movement was launched on 8 February 2021 by President Halimah Yacob as its Patron. It serves as a platform for the people, private and public (3P) sectors to come together to coalesce, rally, co-create, and catalyze ideas as a society under one umbrella movement. Corporates, community organizations, and government agencies work together in this movement to galvanize the community to help all Singaporeans embrace digital as a lifelong pursuit and to enrich their lives through digital technologies. Both individuals and corporations are encouraged to support the less digitally savvy in their midst.
Since its inception, more than 130 partners have kickstarted around 140 ground-up initiatives and pledged support for various aspects of DfL. Initiatives include providing vulnerable groups like the low-income and seniors with digital tools and skills, promoting digital wellness among our youth and community, and supporting niche groups like persons with disabilities and hawkers with basic digital skills. More than 270,000 beneficiaries have benefited from these initiatives.
