BBVAMF is providing connectivity and extending coverage to low-density rural areas to help people access useful and affordable financial services. 52 no-access rural locations have been provided with satellite-based connectivity to better serve the surrounding low-income communities. The sites are being used to educate people digitally with experienced trainers in rural Peru. By 2023, the number of sites will be expanded to 100. DFS and cash in/out services + internet access is provided within 100 mts approx from BBVAMF sites. Digital education services have already been provided to 3,000 people living in those areas. The experience proves a fully sustainable hybrid business model that is further scalable in the areas by using private LTE networks. Further consideration is being given to prioritize upmost excluded populations in no-access Chilean, Panamanian, and Colombian rural areas.
