Qatar is navigating a period of skills transition, as workforce capabilities continue to evolve alongside changing industry needs. Scaling upskilling and reskilling initiatives, deepening public-private collaboration and strengthening awareness of lifelong learning will be key to supporting continuous professional and economic growth. Together, these actions can accelerate the development of a resilient, adaptable and future-ready workforce.


## Activities and deliverables

The Qatar Skills Accelerator, launched by His Excellency Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau, is a national initiative designed to empower Qatar’s workforce with future-ready skills to drive economic growth, innovation, and sustainability. Operating under the Future Skills Office (FSO), the Accelerator ensures Qatar’s workforce remains adaptable, competitive, and future-ready by leveraging skills forecasting, promoting lifelong learning, and multi-sector collaboration.The Qatar Skills Accelerator follows a five-step approach:Forecast future workforce skills needs Assess future skills supply and identify gaps Develop national skills frameworks & support innovative training approaches Create action plans for targeted reskilling Monitor & continuously improve workforce strategies Implementation & LeadershipThe Future Skills Office (FSO), housed in the Institute of Public Administration, coordinates the Accelerator by:Building multi-sector partnerships for workforce development. Leveraging the World Economic Forum's Reskilling Revolution and the Global Accelerator Network for global best practices. Generating insights on future skills based on data-driven research and publications A Regional Model for Workforce TransformationThe Qatar Skills Accelerator is shaping a resilient, inclusive, and tech-driven workforce. By integrating lifelong learning, digital transformation, and cross-sector collaboration, Qatar is leading regional workforce innovation, aligned with QNV 2030, and contributing to the World Economic Forum’s goal of reskilling 1 billion people by 2030.
