Raising adoption of AI and emerging technologies in palm sector


## The Challenge

Despite being a global leader in date production, Saudi Arabia faces challenges in water efficiency and agricultural modernization. Its arid climate demands innovative irrigation solutions, while the adoption of advanced technologies is crucial to boosting productivity, sustainability, and economic growth in alignment with national goals.Aligning with Vision 2030, the national digital agriculture strategy focuses on leveraging technology to transform and modernize the agricultural sector.


## Outcomes

The Centre for Palms and Dates and NTSTS have completed the piloting phase, with results successfully analyzed. A workshop was conducted to address regulatory aspects of data governance.


## Hosted C4IR KSA and Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

To explore future collaborations, the representatives participated in the Agriculture Technologies solutions workshop and interacted with key partners from India to gain insight and discuss the possibility of transferring and localizing priority technologies in the agricultural sector. The delegation also participated at the Roundtable discussion and interacted with 20+ Agri and Ag-tech Industry leaders to gain perspective on their vision of agriculture and how they are leveraging AgriTech.
