# About

The Resilient Futures Initiative aims to transform climate challenges into opportunities for sustainable growth while protecting communities.

## As the social and economic costs of climate change intensify, livelihoods, economies, and public systems are increasingly disrupted, underscoring how vulnerable existing structures are to escalating climate threats.

Closing this resilience gap demands stronger cross-sector coordination and investment to identify and scale effective solutions.

**$3.6 trillion** In damages caused by extreme weather events since 2000

**40%** Shortfall projected between global water demand and supply by 2030

**2.4 billion** Workers worldwide exposed to climate-driven health risks

## Our action framework

Through our three-pillar action framework, we drive leadership, identify and scale up interventions, and encourage investment.

### Elevate Resilience Leadership

Climate resilience is under-prioritized by leaders in business or government. We develop, communicate, support, and demonstrate a new leadership agenda for climate resilience. The work includes defining the risks, setting-calls to action, supporting implementation, and combatting harmful narratives.

### Mobilize Resilience Solutions

The social costs of climate change have become problematic via certain distinct global issues for which new approaches are required. First among these are insurance retreat and heat.We create and steward multi-stakeholder initiatives that drive collaborative action on specific global climate resilience challenges that are creating strong pain points for businesses.

### Drive Regional Investment

The private market for resilience-related goods and services is estimated to be $4 trillion per year by 2050.We establish public-private collaboration platforms in especially climate vulnerable regions and support these platforms with global insights, building understanding of opportunities and facilitating investment.
