# About us

The Financing Coordination Group (FCG) is a coalition of leading organizations working together to drive knowledge exchange, capacity building, and collaboration on innovative financing solutions to support the Global Plastics Treaty.

## The Challenge

To reduce annual mismanaged plastic volumes by 90% relative to 2019 levels, an estimated US$1.5 trillion in public expenditure and US$15.4 trillion in private sector investments are required between 2025 and 2040. Thus, stakeholders across the plastics value chain recognize the need for increased financial resource mobilization to implement the ILBI on plastic pollution and realize a circular economy of plastics.
