FIRST MOVERS COALITION SECTOR

Cement & Concrete

The cement & concrete industry contributes 7-8% of global CO₂ emissions each year and is a key element of the built environment, which is overall responsible for ~40% of global CO₂ emissions.

FMC Commitment

To accelerate the scaling of low-emissions cement & concrete, members commit to purchasing or ensuring that by 2030, 10% (by volume) of their, or their projects', cement or concrete per year is at FMC low-emissions levels.

FMC Guidance

The FMC Cement & Concrete Procurement Guide is for individuals directly or indirectly procuring low emissions cement and concrete. It provides a current view of the procurement landscape, key carbon accounting issues for cement and concrete, and language that may prove useful in passing along to suppliers and intermediaries.
