ASCON Energy Limited (UK), in collaboration with the University of Newcastle New South Wales, Australia, have a commercial partnership for the novel and proprietary carbon removal technology, the Versatile Advanced Methods of Cleaning Off-Gases (VAMCO) platform, which mitigates greenhouse gas emissions from fossil fuel combustion systems, alowing stakeholders utilising fossil fuel combustion to diversify into the “blue” hydrogen value chains.
Description of Technology:
Post-combustion carbon capture and utilization chemical looping technology. The Versatile Advanced Methods of Cleaning Off-Gases (VAMCO) platform allows for stakeholders utilising fossil fuel combustion to diversify into the “blue” hydrogen value chains. The ASCON VAMCO family of chemical looping processes work for point source emissions or direct air capture (DAC) and for fugitive methane gas at sites such as oil refineries and opencast mines. Originally designed for fugitive methane gas emissions, the chemical looping version of the carbon capture technology can be readily deployed by ASCON Energy Limited (UK) at the industrial point sources of greenhouse gas emissions.
