D-CRBN has a proprietary modular and scalable plasma technology capable of splitting the CO₂ molecule into CO or CO₂ + CH₄ (e.g. biogas) into (bio)syngas, all in a fully electrified gaseous phase, without solvents or catalysts. The COor syngas is then turned into added-value chemicals, such as e-fuels, organic acids, polymers, etc., and used as feedstocks for the chemical, petrochemical, maritime, and metallurgical industries, among others. Our aim at D-CRBN is not only to decarbonize industries by eliminating their point source emissions but also to replace fossil feedstocks with CO₂ recycled added value chemicals. This technology can provide strategic and decentralized resource independence to territories and industries that currently depend on oil and natural gas derivatives for their processes.
Description of Technology:
CO is a critical feedstock for circular chemicals or e-fuels such as MeOH. Currently CO from CO₂ is produced by reverse water gas shift; however, this technology requires H₂ to drive the reaction. The high costs of green H₂ consumed in this process make the end product unfit for the market. We provide CO without H₂ waste so that all the green H2 produced actually goes towards the end product and is not wasted in an intermediary step. This makes business cases positive and market fit, eg: green methanol.
