Summary

Charm Industrial will use bio-oil from biomass residues as a reducing agent to produce fossil free iron. Fast Pyrolysis Bio-oil is a carbon and energy rich fluid, easily transportable along pre-existing rail lines. By using an alternative fossil free energy source rich in carbon and hydrogen, Charm can produce iron metallics comparable to traditional ironmaking processes. This has been demonstrated by Charm with a pilot scale bio-oil gasifier and pellet bed, achieving high levels of pellet metallization. At scale this process will readily outcompete hydrogen DRI, with added benefits of carbon in the DRI and carbon removal on the backend. 3rd party verified product: https://nam10.safelinks.protection.outlook.com/?url=https%3A%2F%2Fregistry.isometric.com%2Fsupplier%2Fspl_1H31MW3T81S0R67B&data=05%7C02%7Cwiahl%40deloitte.com%7C01d4e2f4112247c5a3c108de3f48ff31%7C36da45f1dd2c4d1faf135abe46b99921%7C0%7C0%7C639017779919463181%7CUnknown%7CTWFpbGZsb3d8eyJFbXB0eU1hcGkiOnRydWUsIlYiOiIwLjAuMDAwMCIsIlAiOiJXaW4zMiIsIkFOIjoiTWFpbCIsIldUIjoyfQ%3D%3D%7C0%7C%7C%7C&sdata=FqjdkiAWhE%2Bwo5BqfXKjBJ%2FuWdnfVeGcIXfJtZeQm%2Fs%3D&reserved=0
