Summary

Our patented co-injection of hydrogen and biomass technology offers a practical transitional solution to facilitate the transition towards greener ironmaking.

Description of Technology:

Our patented co-injection of hydrogen and biomass technology (PCT/AU2023/051167) offers a practical transitional solution to facilitate the transition towards greener ironmaking. Importantly, our technology requires minimal investments and modifications, allowing ironmaking companies to employ it until zero-carbon ironmaking technologies mature sufficiently. Hydrogen, known as a carbon-free fuel, effectively reduces carbon emissions during blast furnace operations. Conversely, biomass, considered a carbon-neutral carbon-based fuel, offsets the endothermic iron ore reduction reactions caused by hydrogen in the blast furnace. This integration ensures a more sustainable and eco-friendly ironmaking process during the progression towards net-zero ironmaking.
