Green Steel of WA are developing a gas / hydrogen DRI plant close to the town of Geraldton in the midwest of Western Australia. The plant will produce 2.5MTPA of green / low carbon HBI for export. The plant will be based around the Energiron H2 DRI process.

Description of Technology:

The plant will be based around the Energiron H2 DRI process. Energiron is the only commercially available DRI process which can seamlessly transition between natural gas and hydrogen. This will allow the plant to begin operation on natural gas and seamlessly transition to green hydrogen when supplies become available.
