Yara Clean Ammonia will market and distribute renewable ammonia produced at the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project in Saudi Arabia, the world's first large-scale renewable ammonia plant, under a marketing and distribution agreement with Air Products. Yara will commercialise ammonia not sold by Air Products as renewable hydrogen in Europe, leveraging Yara's global fleet of 12 ammonia vessels and 18 import terminals to deliver ammonia worldwide.

Description of Technology:

Renewable ammonia at the NEOM project is produced using green hydrogen generated via electrolysis powered by renewable energy (solar and wind). Hydrogen is then converted to ammonia via the Haber-Bosch process. The facility is designed to produce up to 1.2 million tonnes per year of renewable ammonia with zero or minimal lifecycle GHG emissions.
