Summary

CO2 mineralisation is a natural process that turns carbon dioxide into stone – but as with most geological processes, it takes centuries. Based on 20 years of research, we have found a way to accelerate the process by a factor of more than a million, with minimal energy use. We combine captured carbon with abundant minerals to create a carbon-negative raw material. Paebbl’s modular technology is industrially scalable and can be integrated into any carbon capture system. As a result, Paebbl delivers a carbon-negative raw material stream that fundamentally changes the economics of keeping carbon away from our atmosphere.

Description of Technology:

Paebbl accelerates the natural mineralization process by a factor of over a million by capturing CO2 to react with abundant silicate minerals in an energy-efficient industrial process. Once Paebbl processes the CO2, a rock powder is produced. The silica-enriched mineral product can be used as an inert industrial filler or as an ingredient in building materials such as concrete, bringing the CO2 footprint of concrete down by up to 70%.
