Summary

Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) technology is for electrification; decarbonization of high-temperature industrial process heating up to 1700 C degrees. By replacing the need to burn fossil fuels with clean electrification, it can decarbonize high-temperature processes in traditionally hard-to-abate heavy sectors, such as steel and cement.

Description of Technology:

Coolbrook’s RotoDynamic Heater (RDH) technology replaces the burning of fossil fuels which is currently used for heating. In RotoDynamic Heater, all the necessary gases, such as air, nitrogen and reducing gases are heated to high temperatures required to carry out the desired reactions in the processes. With aerodynamic action achieved through a rotating blade flow, electrically driven RotoDynamic Heater can replace conventional fossil-fired furnaces and kilns in industrial heating processes by directly imparting the shaft’s mechanical energy to the heated gas to provide process heat for the production of steel, cement, hydrogen and other chemicals. It’s the only electric technology that can replace fossil-fired furnaces and kilns with electric heating in industrial processes.
