Sitos Group manufactures biochar utilizing agricultural waste to produce a high-quality, durable, and customizable biochar product. They recently solidified a partnership with Monterey Pacific, an industrial-scale offtaker of Sitos Group’s biochar, to apply biochar to vineyards in southern California. ​

Description of Technology:

Molar H/Corg: 0.26. Production temperatures 650°C. The Sitos pilot facility has had a minimal impact on the local community since it is small scale and located within the regional landfill. The project has benefited the community by diverting municipal waste and repurposing it into biochar which has positive impacts on soils and water efficiency once applied to crops.
