# A Global Coalition for AI and Social Innovation Mobilizing the funding, infrastructure, and partnerships needed to help social innovators deploy AI for impact. ## About the coalition AI is already being used by social innovators across geographies and sectors, from healthcare and economic empowerment to climate action. Yet the systems around them are not designed to help these efforts grow. The Global Coalition for AI and Social Innovation aims to help change that by bringing together innovators, companies, funders, governments, and ecosystem partners around a shared agenda for responsible, inclusive AI. **< 1%** of global corporate investment in AI is allocated to impact **86%** of available funding is concentrated in high-income markets **75%** of support mechanisms fail to combine financial and non-financial support **$500M** The coalition aims to mobilize $500 million in financial and non-financial support by 2030. ## The opportunity AI is already being applied by social innovators across geographies and sectors, but the support around them has not kept pace. Less than 1% of global corporate investment in AI is currently allocated to impact, even as innovators use AI to improve healthcare, expand economic opportunity, and respond to climate-related challenges.Insights from a dataset of more than 300 social innovators across 50 countries and 6 regions show that this is not a future opportunity. It is already happening. Social innovators in low- and middle-income countries are using AI for economic empowerment at scale, while healthcare applications show parity across high-income countries and LMICs.The opportunity now is to build the funding, infrastructure, and partnerships that can help these efforts grow responsibly and extend the benefits of AI to more people and communities. **79%** of social innovators in LMICs use AI for economic empowerment **28%** deploy AI in healthcare **21%** deploy AI for climate ## What the coalition aims to do The Global Coalition for AI and Social Innovation is designed to help build a collaborative ecosystem that can support social innovators in exploring, adopting and applying AI for impact. The benchmark for increasing investments are $10M in financial support or $5M non-financial support by 2030.Coalition members are required to report annually based on the Coalition's reporting guidelines.
