# About our work

The Global Alliance for Women's Health is a trusted, multi-stakeholder platform dedicated to identifying and closing the women's health gap.

## What is the Women's Health Gap?

This refers to the health conditions that affect women uniquely, differently or disproportionately and lead to women spending more time in poor health. A 2024 report by the World Economic Forum, in collaboration with the McKinsey Health Institute, found that globally:

**25%** Women spend 25% more time in "poor health" than men.

**137 Million** Closing the women's health gap could generate the equivalent impact of 137 million women accessing full-time positions by 2040.

**3x Returns** Every $1 invested in women's health unlocks $3 in economic growth.

**$ 1 Trillion** Closing the women’s health gap would boost the global economy by $1 trillion annually – a 1.7% increase in per capita GDP.
