# About the Health For All Initiative

Our desired impact across across Low- and Middle-Income Populations (LMIPs) is to create a strategic focus across the care continuum to reduce premature deaths, address access barriers, and enable healthy lives for all. With up to 80% of health outcomes driven by non-medical factors, all organizations can take a role to address social determinants of health, close health gaps, and enable better well-being and health for all.

## What is health for all?

In 1978, governments and health systems first adopted the term "health for all" to address the needs of people who didn't have access to primary care. Since then, many programmes have flourished within the public and private sectors to close health gaps for countries and people everywhere. A person’s behavioral, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual health are essential to health and well-being. Environmental, social, and economic factors, in addition to traditional clinical care, are part of a holistic health ecosystem. According to Health Affairs, 70% of these health outcomes are due to drivers of health such as access to financial security, housing, and other social, economic, and environmental factors.

## Why should businesses care?

Every organization has a role to play in generating better health and wellbeing for all. A healthy society requires that each of us, and every organization, prioritize actions, products, programs, and policies that promotes wellbeing. Every organization benefits from health, and every organization has a role to play in advancing health for all. This requires systemic change across four domains of action.

Does our workforce have the benefits and services needed to be healthy?

### Offerings

Are our products and services leading to equitable outcomes and are we delivering services that generate health?

### Community

Do our community investments support local health priorities?
