Midis Group: Building resilience through local leadership and distributed decision-making

SDGs Impacted

Midis Group is a technology services holding company connecting global technology brands and ICT solutions with businesses and consumers across emerging EMEA markets. During the regional escalation in March 2026, several group entities in Qatar and the United Arab Emirates had to respond to changing conditions affecting staff safety, business continuity and customer confidence.

The group used a decentralised response model that enabled local leaders to make time-critical decisions while maintaining regular communication and visible support for employees. East Gulf, a system integration company in Qatar, introduced flexible work arrangements, emergency management structures, communication channels and staff support measures. iSTYLE, a retail chain in the UAE, maintained store operations and introduced safety measures for public-facing teams.

The case illustrates how local autonomy, trust and visible leadership can help organisations adapt their response to different operating conditions during an unexpected disruption.

Impact / Outcome
East Gulf and iSTYLE maintained business continuity during the regional escalation, with no job terminations or salary cuts. East Gulf continued supporting critical infrastructure and emerging demand, while iSTYLE kept its stores operating and products available.
Key Metrics
Zero job terminations; no salary cuts; promotions continued as planned; no interruption to internet connectivity or essential services; East Gulf met its targets; iSTYLE stores remained operational.
