## Renewable energy capacity must triple by 2030 to meet energy and climate goals.Achieving this scale at the necessary pace presents both challenges and opportunities.

The Responsible Renewables Infrastructure Initiative recognizes the potential of renewable energy projects to support positive change when they are planned and delivered responsibly. The Principles for Responsible Deployment provide a shared framework to integrate global good practice, respond to local priorities and build trust among stakeholders.Embedded into policy and business models, these principles can help reduce risk, accelerate progress and support a more equitable and sustainable energy transition.

## 5 Principles for Responsible Deployment

These principles are designed to guide all stakeholders in the renewable energy value chain – developers, governments, investors, civil society and communities – in working collectively towards responsible deployment that benefits both people and planet. To learn more, download the PDF.

### 1. Engage meaningfully, inclusively and transparently with communities throughout the project lifecycle

### 2. Support the creation of sustainable and resilient local economies

### 3. Ensure no net loss and strive for net gain in biodiversity and positive impact on natural ecosystems

### 4. Catalyse multi-stakeholder collaboration to drive systemic change

### 5. Mainstream responsible practices across the renewable energy value chain

# Together, this integrated approach can transform the energy transition into a model that fosters a sustainable and equitable future.

By embedding these principles and tailoring them to local contexts, renewable energy deployment can become a catalyst for positive change. These projects can deliver more than clean energy: fostering resilient communities, safeguarding biodiversity, upholding social and environmental standards, and strengthening financial sustainability. Through collaboration, transparency and innovation, renewable energy systems can generate shared value for people, business and the planet.

The Principles for Responsible Deployment of Renewables Infrastructure is a living document that will continue to evolve as the Coalition grows and adapts to new insights, priorities, challenges, and local contexts, ensuring it remains relevant and impactful.
