A non-profit private organization that aims to bring together, represent, and promote the Brazilian mining industry and disclose its activities, contributing to its national and international competitiveness. Founded in 1976, it gathers 185 companies (mining and non-mining) and represents more than 85% of the Brazilian Mineral Production in value (US$ 40 billion in 2010 - excluding oil and natural gas). Headquartered in Brasilia; has other offices in the states of Minas Gerais and Para.
