# About

The goal of the UCARE is clear: to unlock sustainable and synergistic financing from both public and private sources to reduce the global deaths associated with AMR, saving more than 100 million lives by 2050.

## Effective antimicrobials are vital for economies and healthcare

Rising Antimicrobial Resistance (AMR) is a macroeconomic issue. Over the past decade, the World Economic Forum has spearheaded efforts against AMR. Following the UN high level meeting on AMR, September 2024, a key milestone of our work was the development of the Davos Compact on AMR, launched at the 2025 Annual Meeting alongside launching the UCARE initiative.

## The role of UCARE

To collaborate with and support the Quadripartite Joint Secretariat on AMR to achieve the goals of the UN Declaration, specifically to unlock sustainable and synergistic financing from both public and private sources to reduce the global deaths associated with AMR.

## Engagement tracks

The UCARE initiative aims to operationalize the goals of the Davos Compact. It is designed as a multi-year initiative with two engagement tracks, which are to be launched in phases, and two cross-cutting themes. Starting with Innovation and Access, supported by the Global Future Council on AMR.
