Alumni Skills Accelerator

Accelerator Impact

The work of the Accelerator drew on several key initiatives developed by ReGeneration, including partnerships with Microsoft and Coursera and focused on the following key action areas:

1. The adoption from governmental bodies and companies of a skills taxonomy that will serve as a common language for the Greek labour market, increasing homogeneity and labour mobility.

2. The creation of a digital platform that will map real-time labour supply and demand in the country, and allow individuals to identify opportunities for upskilling, reskilling and redeployment into new roles, providing additional support for the job transition or the upskilling process.

3. The scoping of an individual skills passport system that will enable workers to carry their skills and credentials across companies and industries and of individual training accounts for workers, financed from the government and the private sector.

4. An ongoing collaboration between experts from businesses, governments, universities and research centres to create forecasting mechanisms regarding the jobs and skills transformation in the country.

Accelerator Story

The Greece Skills Accelerator was launched in 2020 in collaboration with ReGeneration, a civil society organization that aims to provide better employment opportunity for young Greek graduates.
