Alumni Jobs Accelerator

## Accelerator Impact

In the fourth quarter of 2022, Morocco’s employment rate was measured at 39% , well below the 69.4% rate recorded for OECD countries. Over the past 20 years, the country has significantly raised living standards, however the high growth rates achieved have not created enough jobs to absorb the growing number of youth entering the labour force.

## Accelerator Story

With support from Minister of Economic Inclusion, Small Business, Employment and Skills of Morocco, and in collaboration with the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), the National Agency for the Promotion of Employment and Skills (l'ANAPEC), and the National Association of Human Resources Managers and Trainers (l’AGEF), the Morocco Jobs Accelerator launched in Marrakesh in 2024. The accelerator was co-designed to support activities related to four existing Ministerial policies and projects- Awrach, Ana Moukawil, social dialogue, and Thamm and Thamm 2. The work of the accelerator focused on identifying and accessing funding mechanisms for job transition preparation and retraining, with the objective to develop 12 technical and vocational education and training villages and reach 100,000 individuals by 2026.
