# NigeriaSkills Accelerator

With a population of over 230 million, Nigeria is the largest country in Africa, holds the continent's largest natural gas reserves and is its biggest oil exporter. With more than half of its people aged under 30, Nigeria is among the youngest countries in the world and is on track to become one of the most populous globally. The skills, capabilities and productivity of Nigeria’s youth will be pivotal to the country’s, the continent’s and the world’s future economic growth.


## Activities and deliverables

Officially launched in November 2025, the Nigeria Talent Accelerator will support the country’s strategy to transform into a leading technology-enabled economy. The Accelerator aims to strengthen talent availability across multiple sectors, enhancing domestic capabilities and driving economic growth. The Nigerian Accelerator was conceptualized by the Ministry of Communications and Digital Economy and the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Investment, and is supported by the National Talent Export Programme and the National Information Technology Development Agency.
