## Airports of Tomorrow seeks to address the energy, infrastructure, and financing needs of the aviation industry's transition to Net Zero carbon emissions by 2050.

To achieve this mission, Airports of Tomorrow looks to accelerate aviation’s net zero journey through cross-sectoral collaboration and public-private sector engagement.Leveraging the World Economic Forum platform, Airports of Tomorrow aims to help stakeholders navigate through the rapidly changing aviation market, so to inform a coordinated vision to achieve net zero and unlock greater benefits for industry.

## Three main pillars of work

Airports of Tomorrow's work focuses on the main challenges shaping the future of the aviation sector:

### Sustainable aviation fuels (SAF)

Overcome barriers to scaling SAF production by identifying de-risking mechanisms for project finance and supporting policy synergies globally.

### Airports as energy hubs

Identify under which policy and techno-economic circumstances can net zero aviation technology be deployed within airports.

### Net zero aviation operations

Share tangible tools and best practices on how innovation can accelerate aviation decarbonization, resilience and circularity.

## Four lenses through which the airport ecosystem is analyzed

### Sustainable aviation policy & geopolitics

As more governments look into sustainable aviation policy, mandates and incentives, what synergies can be created, regionally and globally, to create a level playing field and accelerate technology deployment?

### Multi-fuel future & infrastructure

As airlines and airports look at greater SAF usage and zero-emission propulsion towards 2040s, what value chains and infrastructure options need to be developed, and how do stakeholders plan ahead?

### The economics of net zero aviation

How to finance the transition to green aviation and build public-private sector partnerships to reduce costs for passengers and deploy cost-effective ways to decarbonise in-flight and on-the-ground airport operations?

### Innovation, enablers & opportunities

How can cross-value chain collaboration and digitization unlock interoperable book-and-claim systems for SAF usage, and support the development of resilient, circular, nature positive airport and airline operations?
