In line with its strategic priorities, Luxembourg established the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA) in 2018 as a dedicated entity to oversee and support the development of its space sector. While LSA plays a strong role in promoting economic growth and innovation, it also fulfils key regulatory functions, including licensing space activities and ensuring compliance with national and international legal frameworks. This dual mandate reflects a governance model tailored to Luxembourg’s ambitions in space, and ensures coordinated, responsible, and forward-looking development of the ecosystem.
