## Social Innovation in the private sector

Established in 2023, the Corporate Leadership Council on Social Innovation has become the premier engagement platform for corporate social innovation. With over 40 leading companies, the Council drives the private sector's social innovation agenda.

### Agenda Building

The Corporate Leadership Council identifies key themes and issues for corporate social innovation and advances their recognition through knowledge products like the Corporate Social Innovation Compass.

### Public Sector Engagement

The Council supports public sector efforts to enable social innovation. Its engagement with the UN Task Force on Social and Solidarity Economy emphasizes the support of Council members for the social economy.

### Collective Action

The Council drives new partnerships for corporate social innovation and initiates collective action, such as the Rise Ahead Pledge, a corporate commitment to increase investments into social innovation.

## A global voice for social innovation in the private sector

Corporate social innovation quickly emerges as a core business capability, combining social or environmental impact with business goals. The Council drives global recognition for social innovation in the private sector. During the World Economic Forum's Annual Meeting 2024 in Davos, it convened over 50 executives and leaders to announce its Rise Ahead Pledge, publish the Corporate Social Innovation Compass, and announce an initial $55 million in support for social innovation.

## How the Council works

The Council is an invitation-only group of companies that convenes at least three times a year to exchange insights on corporate social innovation, initiate new partnerships, and support key emerging issues in social innovation in the private sector. It is hosted at the Schwab Foundation's Global Alliance for Social Entrepreneurship and collaborates with leading sector organisations.

## Co-hosts of the Corporate Leadership Council

The Council is peer-led and co-hosted by Dr. Chitkala Kalidas, Senior Vice President and Global Head of Environment, Social and Governance at Bayer, and Jennifer Beason, Global Director, Impact Entrepreneurship at SAP.
