## About the Global Future Council on Next Generation Computing

The increasing demand for computational power and the limitations of current systems necessitate innovations in next-generation computing. As traditional computing architectures reach their limits in processing power and energy efficiency, there is a growing urgency to explore quantum computing and emerging paradigms like neuromorphic, in-orbit, high-performance, sustainable and biocomputing. Other emerging areas include innovative chips, revolutionary hardware, artificial intelligence, machine learning, and blockchain.Given likely investments in next generation compute over the next 3-5 years, what are the range of decisions that policy makers and corporates need to take across the registers of democratic access, energy use, resilience and security, and sovereignty?
