GRIP hosted a Whitepaper Masterclass on The Regulatory Frontier — GRIP's flagship publication from the Annual Meeting 2026. The masterclass gave participants a structured deep dive into the paper's core findings, examining how the challenge of governing frontier technologies has shifted from designing frameworks to executing decisions under real-world conditions.
Central to the discussion were the five recurring decisions that determine whether regulation works in practice: defining the regulatory perimeter, translating rules into operational controls, maintaining oversight across the technology lifecycle, enabling interoperability across jurisdictions, and moving from entity-based to system-level supervision. The session drew on experiences from across the GRIP community and created space for participants to reflect on how these challenges play out in their own regulatory contexts.
