2024 Update:
30 innovation projects supported including 23 innovation partnerships between humanitarian organisations and private enterprises.
Capital budgeted to be Invested: $27 million
Capital contracted: $18 million
Capital disbursed: $12 million
Commitment:
The programme is fully financed by the Norwegian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The 300 million NOK programme seeks to de-risk humanitarian private innovation partnerships, increase private investment in humanitarian response and decrease current barriers to private sector engagement. Approximately 30 projects will be funded by end 2025. Each project will be an innovation partnership between humanitarian organisations and private businesses. Approximately one third of the projects are expected to be scaling projects where programme financing will be matched 1-1 with private financing in a blended finance function. Solutions developed and/ or scaled will contribute to a greener humanitarian response, improved humanitarian protection, improved health and sanitation and new innovative financing mechanisms.
