## Addressing plastic pollution in a complex landscape

An estimated US$1.5 trillion in public expenditure and US$15.4 trillion in private sector investments are needed between 2025 to 2040 to reduce annual mismanaged plastic volumes by 90% relative to 2019 levels. The Financing Coordination Group (FCG) is an informal initiative, comprising The Circulate Initiative, UNEP FI, World Bank Group, the OECD and the World Economic Forum, that brings together senior leaders and subject matter experts to inform key decision-makers in the process of the International Legally Binding Instrument (ILBI) on plastic pollution and other financial actors on financing considerations to address plastic pollution.

## Our objectives

An informal core group of institutions that aim to join forces and synergize on financing, to facilitate knowledge exchange for key stakeholders for an effective Global Treaty on Plastic Pollution.
