Food systems are central to economic growth, livelihoods, health and environmental outcomes, yet agri-food production faces a 20% reduced yield for every 1°C increase in global mean temperature, and already 5% of global agricultural GDP is lost to natural disasters.
Whilst supply-side innovation is advancing, demand signals remain too weak for affordable, resilient and sustainable agri-commodities to scale at the speed required.
The First Movers Coalition for Food (FMC for Food) initiative convenes an impartial and trusted platform bringing together industry and finance, governments, farmer organizations, and experts to enable dialogue, insights and advance action for regenerative, sustainable and resilient agri-commodities at scale.
Following our ambition to support $10-20B procurement mobilized of affordable, resilient, sustainable crops by 2030, FMC for Food is identifying and advancing demand signals across specific high-impact agri-commodities through three core pillars.

Deepening efforts across high-impact geo-commodities including rice, beef and cattle, dairy and row crops, to problem-solve and amplify existing and new demand signals.

Connecting global demand ambition with regional scaling pathways and elevating government engagement.

Convening financiers globally and through geo-commodity specific opportunities to co-shape practical pathways.
We tailor and activate multiple elements of change by commodity through targeted convening and enabling a trusted space for problem solving within our four Working Groups: beef cattle, dairy, rice, and row crops (wheat, soy, and corn).
These efforts are complemented by a global coalition platform that supports demand signals, shares procurement insights, and aligns partners around scalable pathways for resilient, sustainable food systems.
