## The Problem

Youth-led climate justice movements are pivotal in driving equitable and sustainable solutions to the climate crisis. However, these groups often face significant challenges in accessing funding and resources. Notably, less than 1% of climate grants from major foundations are allocated to youth-led climate justice initiatives. This disparity is even more pronounced for organizations led by women, Indigenous peoples, and LGBTQ+ individuals, who encounter systemic barriers to securing support.


## The Solution

The Youth Climate Justice Fund (YCJF) addresses these challenges by providing core, flexible funding to emerging youth climate justice groups globally. Since its inception, YCJF has supported over 90 initiatives and aims to expand its reach to more than 150 by 2026. YCJF's participatory grantmaking approach ensures that funding decisions are led by youth representatives and movements, fostering trust and credibility between movements and funding sources. Additionally, the fund emphasizes youth-to-youth capacity development, providing tools and resources that empower young leaders to drive change and build just, sustainable futures.
