## The Lighthouse assessment process in brief

### 1. Application

Nominate your potential Lighthouse factory by submitting the Global Lighthouse Network Application, which will go through an initial review to assess whether the applicant has achieved significant impact and qualifies as a strong Lighthouse candidate.

### 2. Site visit

If
selected as a potential candidate, the Global Lighthouse Network team will
contact the applicant to schedule a full-day site visit (physically or
virtually) to view the technology use cases and conduct interviews with key
site personnel.

### 3. Panel review

After
the site visit, the applicant will refine and finalize the report in
collaboration with the Global Lighthouse Network team before the expert panel
review. The independent panel of experts from academia, industry, and technology
assess and select the candidates that will be designated
Lighthouses.

### 4. Announcement

The
project team will share the final decision from the expert panel. All new
Lighthouses will be announced through a World Economic Forum event, typically
at the Annual Meeting in Davos. Following this, the organization officially
becomes part of the Global Lighthouse Network.
