## Our mission

In a context of growing geo-economic competition, Europe's leaders are mobilizing to tackle the structural challenges holding back its productivity and growth. This demands a focus on competitiveness across clean industry infrastructure, energy markets, research and development, emerging technologies and capital markets. Strong public-private collaboration will be critical to delivering on these goals. The World Economic Forum's Leaders for European Growth and Competitiveness aims to play a key role in driving progress on this agenda.

## Four key enablers

Landmark reports by former Italian Prime Ministers Enrico Letta and Mario Draghi, as well as research and analysis by the World Economic Forum, show that unlocking the productivity needed to strengthen competitiveness depends on key enablers, including ensuring low-cost and reliable clean energy infrastructure, deeper capital markets, and increased availability of risk-sharing instruments to support the financing of higher risk investments. To support these aims, the Leaders for European Growth and Competitiveness steers thematic Pillars focused on four key enablers.


### Enabling Strategic Alliances

The Enabling Strategic Alliances Pillar provides a public-private platform to discuss a foreign economic policy for Europe that ensures resource security, competitiveness, and strategic engagement with global partners amid the most complex geopolitical landscape in decades.


### Shaping the Intelligent Age

The Shaping the Intelligent Age Pillar is dedicated to accelerating Europe’s competitiveness by harnessing the advancements of emerging technologies to propel the continent into the Intelligent Age.


### Clean and Competitive Energy and Industry

The Clean and Competitive Energy and Industry Pillar is dedicated to driving Europe’s clean industry growth and economic competitiveness by ensuring the robust supply of, and demand for, clean energy, as well as to driving the transformation of heavy industry.


### Leveraging Financial Markets

The Leveraging Financial Markets Pillar focuses on deepening Europe’s capital markets and channelling savings into productive investments.
