## Overview

The global conversation on investment is shaped by what goes wrong. High-profile failures, disputes and risks dominate headlines. Meanwhile, the investments that create jobs, build skills and strengthen economies rarely receive attention. The result is a growing trust deficit.Governments face pressure to be cautious. Investors face scrutiny that can slow or deter decisions. And the investments that could make the greatest difference become harder to realize. At the same time, global trends show a widening gap: while capital flows may rise, real investment activity—especially in developing economies—remains fragile. The full picture of FDI is not being told.
