Tech skills are a fundamental currency for success in today’s digital economy, but the traditional skilling model isn’t keeping pace. A Cognizant and Oxford Economics study found up to 90% of U.S. jobs could be affected by generative AI. To prepare workers for the future economy, Cognizant launched Synapse – a global skilling initiative that draws on the company’s deep technology expertise and equips individuals with the training they need to be gainfully employed. By 2026, Cognizant aims to train one million people on digital literacy, generative AI, and other cutting-edge technology skills to build the future workforce. Synapse training ranges from basic digital literacy to generative AI and reaches a diverse range of individuals through apprenticeships, employee skilling, and community education. By reaching underserved communities, marginalized groups, and individuals with limited access to traditional education, Synapse is driving meaningful change and creating pathways to success that were previously inaccessible for many.
