R4E is a pan-European reskilling initiative created by the European Roundtable for Industry (ERT) that aims to reskill 5 million Europeans by 2030. The goal of this programme is to serve as a hub to stimulate partnerships and public-private partnerships that provide reskilling opportunities to unemployed and ‘at-risk’ workers, so they can find employment in new occupations that are in-demand.
R4E aims to mobilise and connect companies, job seekers, authorities and education providers, to create opportunities for individuals to acquire new skills and switch career paths. It’s about equipping millions of people for tomorrow, contributing to a more inclusive job market, and securing the skill base that Europe needs.
In Portugal, R4E has implemented PRO_MOV. This reskilling initiative under the R4E framework is a public-private partnership between the Portuguese Government and dozens of companies and associations that together are implementing an innovative approach to reskilling. The PRO_MOV trainings are designed by companies and reskilling providers and include both classroom and on-the-job training. All trainings are free of charge and subsidized for participants.
Beyond PRO_MOV, R4E Portugal is actively engaged in developing other end-to-end reskilling solutions in Portugal, catering to both the unemployed and employed, including through internal reskilling.
