# About the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders


## Every fraction of a degree counts

The world is at a critical juncture in the climate transition. The latest IPCC report confirmed that we are not responding fast enough to the crisis and are on course to breach the critical barrier of 1.5°C warming within the next two decades.This sets us on a path to cascading planetary tipping points, from the melting of carbon-rich permafrost in the poles to the loss of almost all mountain glaciers. Each tipping point breached is likely to trigger others, producing an irreversible cascading effect – so every fraction of a degree counts.
