
## The Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders welcomes Sumant Sinha, Chairman and CEO of ReNew, as new Co-Chair

•    GENEVA, July 11, 2024 – The Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders announces ReNew Chairman and CEO, Sumant Sinha, as its new Co-Chair. •    Sumant will join Ester Baiget, CEO Novonesis; Jesper Brodin, CEO of Ingka Group Ikea; Feike Sybesma, Chairman of the Supervisory Board Royal Philips; and Rich Lesser, Global Chair BCG and Alliance Chief Advisor •    Together, they will work closely with member CEOs as the Alliance enters its next chapter focused on unlocking the challenges of Scope 3 emissions decarbonization and policy engagement to help shape a low-carbon regulatory environment.

As a member of the Alliance since 2019, ReNew is one of the few organisations in its sector to have declared a 1.5°C-aligned science-based targets validated by SBTi, with a target to be net zero by 2040. ReNew has been at the forefront of advancing emerging decarbonisation solutions, including innovative Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs), solar module manufacturing, carbon markets, power trading, and energy storage, to support enterprises in their transition towards achieving net-zero emission goals. The company is strongly committed to shaping a fossil-free world by accelerating the net-zero transition and has mitigated over 21 million tons of carbon emissions over the last two years. With an overall portfolio of 21.4 GW, ReNew’s leadership across the value chain, positions the company uniquely as a global energy transition leader.Sumant is also Co-Chair of the India chapter of the Alliance of CEO Climate Leaders since its inception at the World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting 2022.
