Words from our supporters

Discover the first hand experience of the CEOs committed to taking a common approach to cyber resilience and protecting digital infrastructure and assets in the oil and gas sector.

As the world deepens its digital footprint, cyber threats are becoming more sophisticated. But one company, working alone is effectively like locking the front gate while leaving the back door wide open. We must work together if we want to truly protect the critical energy infrastructure that billions of people around the world depend upon. This Pledge represents an important step – a commitment to build our capabilities and resilience – but it is the collaboration to follow that will ultimately determine our success.

Amin H. Nasser

President and Chief Executive Officer, Saudi Aramco

Common industry-wide cyber resilience strengthens the oil and gas community while providing guidance for people to navigate their cybersecurity journey. As our world becomes more digitally connected it is imperative, especially for our industrial and operational technology, to ensure our infrastructure's secure and safe operation.

Robert M. Lee

Chief Executive Officer and Co-Founder, Dragos

The oil and gas industry is going through a digital revolution that has been a catalyser to the energy transition and sustainability. Cyber resilience is key in this revolution, as staying ahead of vulnerabilities is fundamental to our business. The pledge is a step further by developing a collective effort to embed cyber resilience and a cyber-risk aware culture across the energy industry.

Felipe Bayón

Chief Executive Officer, Ecopetrol

The pledge advances Galp’s commitment to joint action on managing cyber risks and protecting cybersecurity of critical energy infrastructure, by creating awareness and a unified stance on cyber resilience in the global energy sector.

Andy Brown

Chief Executive Officer, Galp

PETRONAS is committed to and fully supports the Cyber Resilience Pledge and its principles in safeguarding our ability to deliver energy responsibly and securely. In this respect, we believe that addressing the risks and enhancing cyber resilience is critical as the oil and gas industry embraces greater digitalization to capture valuable opportunities in this digital era.

Datuk Tengku Muhammad Taufik

President and Group Chief Executive Officer, PETRONAS

As our world becomes more connected and interdependent, it is imperative that actors from the industry join strengths and cooperate to make the cyberspace safer and more resilient. Schneider Electric supports the Cyber Resilience Pledge initiated by the World Economic Forum and as a signatory commits to reach the highest security standards when it comes to trust and resilience. We invite other industry players to join this collective effort to deliver sustainable, safe and reliable energy.

Barbara Frei

Executive Vice-President and Chief Executive Officer, Industrial Automation, Schneider Electric

Critical infrastructure security is at a pivotal juncture, where threats are proliferating and evolving, but there is also a growing collective interest and desire in protecting our most essential systems. When Colonial Pipeline shut down operations to contain the ransomware attack it experienced last year, consumers felt the impact of fuel shortages across large swaths of the US. As a result, the world has woken up to the staggering financial and societal repercussions that can occur when critical infrastructure is disrupted. On top of this, business leaders continue to deal with the impact of the pandemic while determining how to operate efficiently and securely. It is against this backdrop that organizations must strive to remain resilient despite unprecedented and unpredictable issues.
