
# Systems of Cyber Resilience: Electricity

Given the criticality,  scale of impact, inter-connectedness, rapid digitalization, and the energy transition of the electricity ecosystem,  the need for cyber resilience in electricity is more important than ever since large-scale cyber incidents, such as blackouts, have socioeconomic and safety ramifications for people, businesses, and vital institutions. Systems of Cyber Resilience: Electricity initiative is the only global, electricity industry specific, multistakeholder coalition, which serves as a global exchange platform for cyber security leaders across the industry to collaborate and improve electricity ecosystem wide cyber resilience.


## Our objectives

This initiative objectives for 2024 are to work on the following challenges:


### Facilitating global interoperability of cyber regulations

With a focus on cyber regulations in the electricity sector.


### Collaborating on Supply Chain Incident Response in the electricity ecosystem

To ensure the resilience, reliability, and security of the electricity infrastructure.


### Identifying emerging technologies and providing guidance on secure and rapid adoption

To identify emerging technologies and creating a guidance for its secure and rapid adoption.


### Defining the role and responsibilities of a CISO

To work on publishing recommendations on the roles and responsibilities for a CISO in the electricity sector.


## Our insights

Established in 2018, this initiative has built a trusted community and raised awareness among leaders, mobilized action to secure the electricity transformation and developed thought leadership, tools and capabilities.The community delivered guidance, playbooks, analysis and recommendations, and whitepaper for boards, regulators, business, and cybersecurity leaders regarding cyber resilience principles, regulations, and securing the value chain.


### Facilitating Global Interoperability of Cyber Regulations in the Electricity Sector

This position paper on cybersecurity in the electricity sector advocates for interoperability among nations to cultivate a secure, resilient and standardized approach globally.
