## Future of Space Economy

The space economy is on track to become a trillion-dollar industry by 2030, driven by new technologies that are making it more accessible than ever. This transformation is creating unprecedented opportunities for industries here on Earth.Future of Space Economy activities bridge the gap between the space sector and terrestrial industries like manufacturing, healthcare, and energy. We convene leaders from these diverse fields to unlock the Earth-bound benefits of space technology—driving efficiency, lowering costs, and enhancing environmental monitoring.

## National Space Strategy Toolkit

The rapid growth and commercialization of the space sector present significant new opportunities for national development. However, for emerging space nations, navigating this complex landscape is a primary challenge. Key obstacles include effectively articulating the value of space activities and identifying the most impactful investment pathways. The National Space Strategy Toolkit is designed to address these challenges directly. It provides national actors with a comprehensive toolkit to develop a sustainable and efficient space strategy, ensuring that investments are optimized to deliver maximum social and economic returns.

## Earth Observation

The world is changing rapidly. Extreme weather events are intensifying, biodiversity loss is accelerating and land degradation threatens food and water security. These environmental shifts carry growing risks for economies, supply chains and communities.Earth observation can help organizations navigate these challenges. By 2030, it could add $703B to global GDP and decrease CO2 emissions by 2Gt every year. Much of that potential remains untapped. We have convened a community of leading EO data providers, users and experts to accelerate EO adoption where it matters most through increased awareness, simplified navigation, enhanced technical accessibility and demonstrated ROI.

## Responsible Space Activities

Our orbits are becoming dangerously crowded. A rapid increase in active satellites, combined with a growing field of space debris, presents a significant threat of collision. This puts the critical infrastructure we rely on for communication, navigation, and climate monitoring at risk.Responsible Space Activities activities convene key actors from across the space industry to manage this threat. Our work focuses on building consensus for best practices and developing clear policy recommendations. By tackling complex issues like debris removal, we aim to find actionable solutions and ensure the long-term sustainability of space for all.

### India

India has a bold ambition for its space economy: to reach $44 billion and capture 8% of the global market by 2033. Achieving this requires a thriving ecosystem built on powerful collaboration between government agencies and private industry. The World Economic Forum's India Space Economy workstream is the platform to forge these critical partnerships. We bring leaders together to unlock the sector's full potential by addressing key challenges and maximizing shared resources. A key focus is leveraging technologies like Earth Observation data, where joint efforts can drive innovation and solve pressing societal issues.

### Japan

Japan has set a bold target: to double its space economy to JPY 8 trillion (approx. $52 billion) by the early 2030s. Building on its robust ecosystem of established companies, SMEs, and startups, the nation is well-positioned for this ambitious growth. The World Economic Forum partners with Japanese leaders through a dedicated dialogue series to help realize this vision. We convene key stakeholders to tackle critical challenges, spark new collaborative initiatives, and develop strategies that scale Japan's space activities and extend their benefits across the entire economy.

### Affiliate Centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution

The Centre for Space Futures (CSF) is a global center established by the Saudi Space Agency and the World Economic Forum. The CSF is dedicated to raising awareness about safeguarding and growing the space economy by empowering innovation and collaboration. This involved integrating best practices, developing advanced frameworks, fostering strategic alliances, and promoting sustainable practices to maximize the benefits of space for all stakeholders.
