According to the World Economic Forum’s freshly released Future of Jobs 2025 report, 71% of employers in Latvia are concerned with talent availability in the next five years, compared with only 42% globally.While employers are struggling to attract qualified talent, our own research shows that the understanding of the labour market tendencies among high school aged students that are soon to enter universities or start their work life, seems to be dim. Only 40% are sure or rather sure of their future career path and the ones who are sure often tend to choose industries that represent a small proportion of the country’s GDP.Future-proofing Latvian career education ecosystem will be fundamental to driving the economy towards more inclusive growth, putting people at the center of a more prosperous trajectory.
