Inclusive Cities Commitments

Inclusive and accessible technologies, services, and built environments enhance well-being, enable social equity, and can unlock significant economic potential.

The elderly, and people living with chronic health conditions and disabilities face substantial inclusion challenges, despite the assistive technology market projected to reach $66 billion by 2030 for this demographic. This demographic also represents a significant part of the consumer market, while the global market of people with disabilities is over one billion people with a spending power of more than $6 trillion.

Our partners Microsoft, G3ICT and UCLG are collaborting to accelerate the adoption of inclusive technologies and services for all. This campaign urges global leaders to mobilize action to shape accessible technologies, services, and built environments.

Actionable commitments can include adopting the G20 Global Smart Cities Model Policy on ICT Accessibility, developing inclusive technologies, designing accessible places, removing barriers to mobility and essential services, transforming organizational culture for equitable inclusion, among other innovative solutions.
